ABSTRACT
The symp toms of the chronic fa tigue syndrome closely match those of chronic orthostatic in tol er ance and re search sug gests that orthostatic in tol er ance plays a role in the symptomatology of CFS. Re -cent in ves ti gations sup port the hy poth e sis that findings in CFS patients re sult at least in part from im paired blood pres sure and heart rate reg u lation. Orthostatic in tol er ance has been im pli cated. Effective and spe cific treat ment for chronic orthostatic in tol er ance can only be de vel oped when a spe cific eti ol ogy or eti ol o gies are dis cov -ered.
