Abstract

Tavares J, Ivo R, Gonzalez F, Lamas T, Mendes JJ. Open Access Emerg Med. 2019;11:133–145.

The Editor and Publisher of Open Access Emergency Medicine wish to retract the published article. Following publication it has come to the journals attention that lung, cardiac and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) ultrasound images used in Figures 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 15 were originally published under a Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/). According to the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license adaptation of the original material requires that material to be distributed under the same license. All content at Dove Medical Press is published under a CC BY-NC license which is not compatible with the requirements of a CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The decision was made to retract the article and the authors have been notified. The images in question have also been obscured to prevent further copyright issues.

Our decision-making was informed by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retraction.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
