Abstract

It is customary to distinguish between rupture and dehiscence of a cesarean section scar. Rupture referees to rupture of the fetal membranes so that the uterine cavity communicates with the peritoneal cavity. In dehiscence the membranes are not ruptured and it is generally believed that the fetus in such cases could not be extruded into the peritoneal cavity. Here we present a case where the fetus with intact fetal membranes and placenta was expelled.
