A simple method of increasing the diameter of the broncho-oesophagoscopic tubes

Abstract

To increase the diameter of the tubes is a problem difficult to solve. For this purpose an expanding oesophagoscope was constructed. This oesophagoscope can be in its closed position easily introduced. After introduction it can be adjusted to the desired width and the distance between the halves of the speculum set as required. This oesophagoscope consists of a special expanding mechanism permitting adjustement of the grooved halves of the speculum in relation to each other as desired and various grooved speculum differing in shape and size.
