Abstract
Although according to the literature laryngocele is an uncommon lesion (some 60 published cases according to Lund, 1939), certain prerequisites for its occurrence and clinical aspects of the condition have been subject to discussion. Harrison (1950) maintains that laryngocele occurs more frequently than has been stated earlier, but is easily overlooked or misinterpreted. Butler (1950) presents autopsy observations and points out certain anatomic conditions, including the following.
A case of an internal laryngocele with gelatinous, clear contents is described, and a brief review of the literature is given.
