Triplet Speech Audiometry - An Approach to Hearing Aid Fitting on an Analytic Base

Pages 160-162 | Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

By means of his experiments with spoken voice and whispered voice in speech audiometry Kruisinga1 demonstrated that the influence of hearing impairment on the articulation curves for these two sorts of speech may be quite different. The contrast in quality between whispered and spoken voice makes it acceptable that in cases of non uniform hearing loss the effect on intelligibility may differ. This brought us to further experiments in the field of qualitative speech audiometry.
