Rhinomanometric Measurements of the Nasal Passage

Abstract

Rhinomanometry is a method of utilizing the pressure variations in rhinopharynx under normal respiration for measurement of the nasal passage. The method may be applied as rhinomanometria anterior with derivation of the pressure variations in rhinopharynx via one of the nasal cavities or as rhinomanometria posterior with derivation of the pressure variations via a tube leading through the mouth and ending behind the soft palate.
