Abstract
An operative method is presented which allows reconstruction of the normal ear canal and of the middle ear after radical mastoid surgery. The tympanoplasty is made using a large fascial graft which, together with a postauricular musculoperiosteal flap, seals off the cavity from the middle ear, and from the ear canal.
