Closed Traumatic Rupture of the Cervical Trachea

Pages 509-513 | Received 20 Nov 1962, Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

Closed traumatic rupture is becoming more frequent, partly due to our modern traffic.

The surgeon's attitude to this type of lesion must be rather active. This results in primary healing with normal anatomy and normal function. The case described here stresses this as well as the two other cases treated in our Department of Thoracic Surgery (Thorén, 1962; Hallén, to be published).
