Abstract
In 100 consecutive cases of salivary—gland carcinoma in which aspiration biopsy had been performed before operation, the cytological findings were compared with the histological diagnoses. Morphological features are described which should prove useful in the differentiation between various types of salivary—gland carcinoma in smears of aspirate—adenoid cystic, acinic cell, mucus—producing adenopapillary, trabecular adenocarcinoma, muco—epidermoid carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma.
