Pages 281-284 | Published online: 08 Jul 2009

Abstract

Data were collected on all cases of a foreign body, treated at the Department of Otolaryngology over a 10-month period in 1978–79. There were altogether 293 cases, which were analysed with regard to location and type of foreign body. The most common foreign objects were bones of fish. Therapy and contributing causes are described and the possibilities of reducing the incidence of foreign-body accidents are discussed.
