Abstract
Oral administration of glycerol at 0.5 g/kg and 1.0g/kg body weight in the guinea pig with experimentally induced hydrops provoked no obvious modifications of the CAP audiogram within a 3-h recording session. Daily administration of glycerol at the same dose level during a 4-month period did not modify the deterioration of CAP thresholds although some limited beneficial effect was detected for some animals after 8 weeks of treatment.
