Synopsis

The toxicity of body fluids obtained from adult psychiotic patients has been described previously. Recent work has indicated that this may also be the case with psychotic children, and that this may be epileptogenic in nature. The present study undertakes to validate previous results obtained and to establish whether the toxicity previously described is a function of psychosis or of retardation. The results obtained reinforce the idea that a specific toxic factor exists in the psychotic group, although its epileptogenic nature needs elucidation by elaboration and development of further techniques.
