Abstract
A volume displacement body plethysmograph equipped with an electrical circuit that overcomes the phase lag and the limited frequency response, is presented. The box volume displacement is measured with an integrated pneumotachograph signal. After electrical compensation the amplitude response of the box-pneumotachograph system was correct up to 40–50 Hz. The phase lag was sufficiently compensated up to about 35 Hz. A compensation chamber applicable to a volume displacement plethysmograph is described.
