Gross Hematuria Caused by Renal Infarction: Report on Two Cases

&
Pages 85-89 | Received 20 Jan 1972, Published online: 09 Jul 2009

Abstract

Two patients are described in whom the cause of macroscopic hematuria was renal infarction. In addition to hematuria a large perirenal hematoma developed in one of the patients and the kidney had to be removed. In the other patient, the macroscopic hemalitria ceased after excision of the infarct area. In both cases, renal infarction developed when the patient was dehydrated after hard physical strain.
