Abstract
Obesity is a disease that affects the physical, psychological, and sociological well-being of the individual. This disease is prevalent in our society, and is especially resistant to treatment. Research indicates that the successful treatment of obesity includes serious consideration of the modification of human behavior which will contribute to healthy self-actualization. The purpose of this article is to suggest a model for therapeutic intervention which can be used by nurse-therapists in the treatment of obesity.
