Abstract
This study used a descriptive research design to investigate the relationship between women's degree of assertiveness and their post-divorce adjustment. Thirteen female subjects participated in the study. The subjects completed two questionnaires: the Assertion Inventory and the Divorcees' Adjustment Scale. Findings did not support the existence of a positive relationship between the degree of discomfort and level of post-divorce adjustment and between the response probability and level of post-divorce adjustment. The data did suggest a tendency toward an inverse relationship. As the degree of discomfort decreased the post-divorce adjustment level increased.
