Abstract

Abstract. Retinal emboli are classically produced by arteriosclerotic carotid lesions or as a result of valvular heart disease. If the emboli are bilateral or if symptoms include the upper extremities, then other sources such as the innominate artery or aortic arch should be considered. The authors' case illustrates this point and the use of arteriography in demonstrating these lesions.
