A useful knot in ptosis surgery

Abstract

Skin closure in ptosis surgery requires deeply placed stitches which encompass the edges of the skin and the levator aponeurosis. In the authors' modification, a friction knot is tied with stiff monofilament suture material. This technique substantially simplifies subsequent removal of the suture.
