Abstract
The medial canthal area is the second most common location of eyelid tumors. The skin defects following medial canthal tumor removal can be reconstructed by open or closed methods. The glabellar flap is a type of closed treatment. Using the flap after the reconstruction the medial can-that area tends to lose its concavity and may require a second operation for debulking.
When the part of the glabellar flap covering the medial canthal skin defect and the root of the nose is thinned to the desired thickness, the functional result is the same but the cosmetic result is better than using the original technique.
