Abstract
Based on the connection between symptoms from the gastrointestinal tract and rheumatic diseases and their complications, the author gives some general points of view on possible pathogenetic mechanisms and the conceptions of diseases. The references are not meant to cover the whole aspect of arthritis and the gastrointestinal tract, but only to illustrate the author's approach to the problems.
