Abstract
The paper describes the development of the first injection-moulded pharmaceutical capsules. Starch and gelatin capsules have been prepared and the processing conditions and properties of the resulting starch capsules are considered in detail. Comparisons are made between the processing of thermoplastics arid starch and gelatin and the starch capsule is compared with the conventional, dip-moulded hard gelatin capsule.
