Late paraphrenia

Abstract

Late paraphrenia does not have a very long history and faces, as we shall see, imminent extinction. During this brief life, the diagnosis has been the subject of a degree of dispute and uncertainty unprecedented in the old age psychiatry field. This paper presents a somewhat simplified account of what started out as a straightforward useful descriptive category but has become a confusing no-man's land on the fringes of schizophrenia
