C1 esterase inhibitor concentrate in the management of hereditary angio-oedema

Abstract

C1 esterase inhibitor concentrate has been available for the treatment of hereditary angio-oedema since 1979. Its contribution to the management of severe angio-oedema in hereditary C1 esterase inhibitor deficiency is assessed in a review of its use over a 12-year period in the urticaria clinic at St John's Dermatology Centre.
