Abstract

We have used balneophototherapy to treat vitiligo on an outpatient basis. The treatment combines UV irradiation (UVB/UVA) with salt-water baths. Four photographically well-documented case reports of nonsegmental-type vitiligo are presented. A repigmentation of 60–80% of the preexistent lesions was achieved within 6 months or more. These results of well-tolerated balneophototherapy in vitiligo point to an effective treatment regimen.
