Abstract
The case of a 36-year-old male prediabetic patient with unusual perforating and ulcerating necrobiosis lipoidica with an atypical one-sided extracrural localization of lesions is reported. After establishing the diagnosis, treatment with cyclosporin A was eventually selected. A dose of 3 mg/kg per day controlled the disease promptly and could be tapered to a maintenance dose of 1 mg/kg per day after 4 weeks.
