Abstract

Structured, well-run, self-help groups have a lot to offer to sufferers from MS and their families.

Where a national ‘umbrella’ organisation exists it can also be used to keep up to date with the latest information relevant to multiple sclerosis. A variety of activities can be pursued to retain and re-inforce interest but when the group is therapy orientated the strongest influence must be that of the therapy and therefore of the professionals involved.
