Abstract
This 3-year research and development project, funded by the Health Education Council (HEC) and based at Sheffield City Polytechnic, was set up in November 1984. Our overall brief was to
‘investigate and promote the contribution of four of the professions allied to medicine to health education, health promotion and prevention’.
