The effects of manipulative physiotherapy on chronic cervical dysfunction

Pages 23-31 | Accepted 01 Oct 1990, Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

Little information exists concerning the efficacy of manipulation in the treatment of chronic cervical dysfunction. A single case study to test the efficacy of manipulative physiotherapy in a subject with chronic cervical dysfunction is presented. The manipulative physiotherapy used is based on the Maitland philosophy. The positive aspects of incorporating the single case study method of research into clinical practice are discussed and the difficulties highlighted.
