Magnetic Fields: Effects on Blood Flow in Human Subjects

Pages 3-9 | Accepted 01 Oct 1991, Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

Therapeutic doses of magnetic fields applied to the human forearm and hand do not change blood flow despite a small statistically significant increase in forearm skin temperature due to infrared radiation from the operating cylinder. The beneficial effects of magnetic fields are unlikely to be due to changes in blood flow.
