Abstract
We read with interest the case report of Ampil et al. titled ‘Chylous Effusion Complicating Chronic Lymphatic Leukaemia.’ As mentioned in the report, whilst pleural effusion is a relatively common complication of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), chylous effusions are distinctly rare. We would like to report a case of B-CLL complicated by bilateral chylothorax and intractable chylous ascites. The clinical course and the outcome of this case supports the conclusion of Ampil et al. that radiotherapy is an effective therapeutic modality for chylous effusions associated with CLL.
