Abstract
Bacterial smears are stained by a technic previously described by the author. In this technic Wright's stain is used and is allowed to evaporate almost to dryness without diluting; it is then washed off rapidly with a buffer solution (pH 6.5) and is quickly dried by means of fanning. Using this technic, various structures are observed in the sporulation of Clostridium tetani and C. Welchii which do not seem to have been described before. Descriptions of these structures are given in the present paper.
