Abstract

Brilliant cresyl blue is substituted for carmine in the acetocarmine technic. A mixture of one part of 1% toluidine blue and three parts 0.75% brilliant cresyl blue dissolved in 45% acetic acid gives good results. Propionic acid may be used instead of acetic acid for more rapid penetration.
