THE AUTHORS
Manuella Adrian, M. Sc. Hyg., has published several hundred scientific and professional articles and a score of books in the field of addictions and the use and misuse of both legal and illegal drugs and their health, legal, social, and economic consequences. She has published in the areas of epidemiology, public health, health economics, applied statistics, large-scale data management and analysis (an early form of data mining), mensuration, metrics and the construction of indices, and studies of health care management, organization, administration, and public policies. She has, or has had, cross-appointments with the University of Guelph, Carleton University, the University of Kansas, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida International University. She continues to be interested in social policy and persuasive speech. She is a member of the editorial board of Substance Use & Misuse.
