Abstract
A follow-up study of former participants in drug education courses at the National Drug Education Center in Oklahoma was conducted using a mail questionnaire with 41 % return. Almost all respondents reported that the course had been helpful, and 62 % were working in drug education or treatment programs. From one-fourth to one-third of the respondents had decreased or stopped using caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol following the course. The courses were also effective in reordering the respondents’ perspectives of drug use and abuse. Sixty-eight percent expressed a desire for a follow-up course to up-date their knowledge or to acquire additional skills.
