Abstract

The Israeli Penal Code provides that persons convicted of criminal offenses which are seen to be related to drug addiction may simultaneously be subjected both to a hospitalization order for the purposes of detoxification and to a term of imprisonment. The merits and demerits of such legislation are considered.
