Alcohol Halfway Houses: Treatment Length and Treatment Outcome

Abstract

A follow-up study of 196 alcohol halfway house residents did not support increased length of stay per se and improved treatment out-come. Further treatment following halfway house rehabilitation was, however, observed to have a significant impact upon outcome in the areas of productivity, criminal justice involvement, and substance abuse.
