A Brief Research Note Concerning Nonmedical Detoxification Rates During the 1978 Manitoba Beer and Liquor Strikes

Abstract

Seasonally adjusted mean daily admission rates to a nonmedical detoxification facility during a beer and a liquor strike were compared to equivalent periods preceding and following the strikes. No significant differences were found for either strike. This finding contrasts with our previous report of a reduction in admission rates to a medical detoxification unit during the liquor strike.
