Synthetic-Dynamic Theory of Drug Abuse Patterns

Pages 1301-1304 | Published online: 03 Jul 2009

Abstract

A macroscopic theory of drug abuse is introduced. It conceives adolescent drug abuse as the dual function of the breakdown or malfunction in the socialization processes and the total discontent experienced by an individual. The theory is based on a feedback model where the drug abuse pattern is viewed from a holistic-dynamic rather than simple-static point of view.
