Abstract
This four day international conference was convened by the Journal of Interprofessional Care and incorporated the 19th Interdisciplinary Health Care Team Conference from the United States. Opening the proceedings Patrick Pietroni, Dean of Postgraduate General Practice, North Thames, welcomed the 200 delegates from the United States, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Slovakia, France, Canada, Bahrain, Japan, Ukraine, Turkey, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The welcomes continued from: Professor Sir Michael Drury, Chairman of the UK Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Eduction (CAIPE); Dr Rita Goble, President of the European Network for Development of Multiprofessional Education in Health Sciences (EMPE); and Clyde Willis, Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, Bowling Green State University, USA, on behalf of the Steering Committe of the United States Interdisciplinary Health Care Team Conference.
