Abstract
This paper comprises a literary review of the adverse effects of alcohol consumption on reproduction. Particular emphasis is given to developmental disabilities and behaviour problems found in offspring owing to maternal and/or paternal alcohol abuse. Attention is drawn to adverse effects on nutritional status of alcohol consumption. Remedial measures for the reduction of alcohol-induced fetal damage are suggested.
