Summary
In spite of the advances made in the field of instrumentation, optics and imaging, laparoscopic suturing and knot tying can sometimes be difficult, frustrating and time-consuming. The simple technique of suturing and knot tying devised by the author does not require any sophisticated equipment, but is accomplished by percutaneously suspending the needle over the target area. The knot is formed by simple side to side movements of the needle end across a relatively fixed vertical afferent limb of the suture.
