Summary

We report the use of a new flexible-tipped laparoscopic ultrasound transducer during laparoscopic colorectal surgery. The flexible tip, in combination with ‘picture on picture’ videomonitoring, facilitates efficient hepatic assessment. Our early experience suggests that this technique may identify metastases not detected by conventional imaging modalities.
