Stenotic surgical portosystemic shunt: Management with a metallic stent

Summary

A case of a stenosed splenorenal shunt is reported. Balloon angio-plasty was performed, but was unsuccessful, and a metallic stent was inserted. After a 30 month follow-up, the patient is asymptomatic and the shunt shows good flow with minimal intrastent intimal hyperplasia.
