Neuropraxia following laparoscopic procedures: An occupational injury

Summary

Four occupational nerve injuries to the non-dominant hand of three laparoscopic surgeons are reported. All the injuries were transient and related to the use of ring-handled instruments. Further ergonomic studies of instrument design involving surgeons and manufacturers are needed.
