Antimicrobial Properties of Some West African Medicinal Plants: I. Antimicrobial Action of Bryophylum pinnatum Lam. (Crassulaceae)

Abstract

Preliminary studies on the antimicrobial action of the expressed juice from the warmed leaves of Bryophyllum pinnatum Lam. (Crassulaceae), using the agar diffusion method, showed antibacterial activity of the juice against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa used as test organisms.
