Abstract

“PHARMACOGNOSY” and “PHARMACOGNOSIST” A Question of Semantics

History of the word pharmacognosy and the corresponding adjective in the German, English and French languages. France has hesitated a long time to adopt these neologisms. The French Committee to study medical terms has only accepted the derivations pharmacognostique and pharmacognoste.
