Abstract

A total of 180 plant extracts representing 53 different families has been screened for saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins. The number of positive tests obtained was 163(90%) for saponins, 83(46%) for alkaloids, 100(55%) for flavonoids and 51(28%) for tannins.
