Abstract

A total of 175 plant extracts representing 51 different families has been screened for saponins, flavonoids, tannins and alkaloids. Positive tests obtained were 155 (88%) for saponins, 86 (49%) for alkaloids, 102 (58%) for flavonoids and 54 (30%) for tannins.
