To start with the leaves of senna plants along with cotyledonary leaves have been cleared and studied. Architectural study of the adulterant has also been done. This has revealed points of differences on the basis of which they can be identified. Screening was done by TLC for the drug plant as well as the adulterant. Sennoside content of cotyledonary leaves as well as mature leaves has been studied.
